Welcome to Missoula Villages-About Us
A Community Where Older Adults Thrive—Together
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
We believe Missoula’s neighborhoods are stronger when older adults are empowered to remain in their homes and engaged in the life of their community. Our mission is rooted in the belief that aging in place should be filled with dignity, independence, and connection.
In our program, Neighbors Help Neighbors—not only by lending a hand, but by building meaningful relationships. It’s about sharing time, stories, and support. It’s about getting to know your neighbor and creating a sense of belonging for everyone. It's a place where we all have valuable skills and talents to share with each other.
If you have older parents or relatives in Missoula this program can help them to live independently and give you a way to use your your skills to help them, and others, stay in their home. With many volunteers, each with unique skills, the needs of our elderly can be met without overburdening you.
Starting in January 2026 we will begin the Missoula Village Program. The initial village will include all areas within the City of Missoula and Missoula County who wish to participate and who are currently served by Missoula Aging Services.
As we enroll enough villagers in each area of town or the county, we will designate local Missoula Villages aligned with the boundaries of the Missoula Neighborhood Councils. If you would like to help us start a village in your neighborhood please email us at [email protected].
Our Mission
"Enhance Missoula’s vibrant neighborhoods by promoting aging in place with dignity, independence, and engagement through a trusted network of services, social connections, and community-driven resource exchange."
Our Guiding Principles
“Sharing abilities through intergenerational connections. Missoula Village emphasizes the unique individual skills across generations as a means of fostering strong social bonds and community engagement. Our principle is that both older and younger generations can benefit from mutual support and shared experiences supporting aging in place.”
By coming together, we’re creating a Missoula where older adults can age with confidence—and where community means knowing, supporting, and celebrating one another.
