Missoula Villages Volunteer Opportunities
🚙Transportation Assistance:
- Help Village members get to critical medical appointments, for which timing is critical.
- Provide necessary transportation to Village members who cannot drive, but may need to go shopping, visit friends or other activity, for which the scheduling is non-critical.
If you sign-up to help with transportation, you will receive notices for all ride requests. Applicants must be at least 19 years old with a valid driver’s license and no moving violations within the past 3 years.
🥳Event Organizer/Staffer: Missoula Villages offers social events for members and organizes trips to community events. We are always looking for additional help to plan, organize, and run events.
🧹Simple Indoor Maintenance: If you're handy, with skills for simple tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing furnace filters, or replacing batteries in smoke and CO detectors, you are a great resource.
🍃Leaf Raking and Lawn Care-Clean-up Crew: You can help older neighbors remain safely at home by volunteering for yard and home upkeep tasks. Missoula Villages connects members for help with physical yard and outdoor tasks. Activities may include things like trimming hedges, cleaning rain gutters, raking leaves, and needles, etc.
❄️Snow Shoveling or Blowing: You can help neighbors by volunteering to help clear winter snow. Sometimes a member will have the equipment needed; Missoula Villages maintains a tool library at Missoula Aging Services with a variety of tools available for check-out.
📲Village Check-in Circles: This service is for members who would like to connect with others by phone on a regular basis. The Village Circles provide a friendly check-in and a chance to say hello.
💻Tech-Computer Wiz-MAC or PC: If you are a competent user of either Apple or PC computers, help with basic skills and tasks and/or computer set-up.
📱Tech-Phone/Tablet Wiz-Apple or Android: If you are a competent user of either Apple or Android/non-Apple phones and/or tablets, help with basic skills and tasks and/or set-up.
📶Tech-Home Internet-WiFi Wiz: If you have skills in setting up home WIFI and can help our members set up, reset and learn to use their WIFI they would greatly appreciate your help. This service requires a background check which Missoula Villages pays for.

Opportunities Coming to Missoula Villages in the Future
🥣Short-Term Meal Support: Short-term meal support to help member who might be recovering from an illness or medical procedure, or have need for another reason, please join us.
🚚Dump and Compost Runs: If you own a trailer that could be filled with bulk trash for a dump run, or compostable materials (branches, grass, etc) that could be taken to the Missoula Compost site.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH MISSOULA AGING SERVICES
👩⚕️Caring Companion: Offer meaningful support for an older neighbor. Caring Companions are Missoula Aging Services volunteers visit regularly with older Missoula-area residents. As a companion, you might, for example: go out for for lunch, shopping, or appointments; go for walks; play games; or just chat.
