How quickly can I expect a response to my service request?

The response time depends on the availability of the volunteers who have offered to help provide the service you are requesting.

If you know of a need well in advance, such as a doctor's appointment which is at a specific date and time, it is best to make your request as early as possible to give volunteers time to respond.  Last minute requests are generally very hard to fullfill.  Transportation requests are our most common service and should be requested at least 24 ours in advance and preferably 2-7 days in advance.

If your request is not time specific, such as needing help raking leaves, it is easier for volunteers to respond and provide the help as they are able.

It is important to be very specific about your needs when making your service request.  Time, location, how long the task might take, any special needs, how urgent, etc. will all help the volunteers respond appropriately.

In general, 24 hours or more is a good time frame for most service requests, but it is important to understand that some requests may not be fullfilled if no volunteers are immediately available.

This program is Neighbors Helping Neighbors and we need everyone to sign up to volunteer to help with those tasks that you are able to help with.
