Unlimited Member Benefits
Members may attend or participate in unlimited Social and Educational activities offered through the Missoula Villages. Most of these can be found on the Events Calendar and Events List. The list below gives an overview of these activities.
Technology Assistance
Get help using your smart phone, pad or computer. This group assistance is done at the Missoula Aging Services Center, 337 Stephens Ave. See the Events Calendar and Events List for dates and to sign-up. Bring your pad, phone or laptop, along with your questions and get them answered. This is an unlimited member benefit and is not subject to the 5 services/month limit.
Health and Wellness Programs
Programs through Missoula Aging Services, Missoula Health Department and our other partners are listed in the Events Calendar and Events List where you can sign-up. While most of the programs are free, some may have a fee. This is an unlimited member benefit and is not subject to the 5 services/month limit.
Social and Recreational Programs
Programs are led by our members, Missoula Aging Services, Missoula Parks and Recreation Department and our other partners. Events are listed in the Events Calendar and Events List where you can sign-up. While most of the programs are free, some may have a fee. Educational and Lifelong Learning Programs
Programs through Missoula Aging Services, The University of Montana, and our partners are listed on the Events Calendar and Events List where you can sign-up. Emergency Preparedness
Missoula Villages will periodically send members updates on how to sign-up for emergency services such as Smart 911. We may also offer periodic classes and help on emergency topics such as wildfire preparedness for your home, preparing emergency kits and other topics. These will be listed on the Events Calendar and Events List. This is an unlimited member benefit and is not subject to the 5 services/month limit.
Community Lunches
Enjoy good food with your neighbors through the Community Table Program! To get started please call (406) 728-7682 or stop by Missoula Aging Services offices at 337 Stephens Ave. to get signed up for new community table options that will be offered at restaurants and regular pop-up locations around town. These lunches are an unlimited member benefit and is not subject to the 5 services/month limit.
- Community Lunches at the Missoula Senior Center are from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday. Homestyle meals in a friendly setting make this lunch a mainstay for many residents. Meals are free for Missoula Aging Service voucher holders and $10 for Missoula Senior Center members and $13 for the general public.
- Rural Community Lunches: Weekly, or monthly lunches are offered at various locations across Missoula County, including the communities of Bonner, Lolo and Seeley Lake. At each location there is a suggested contribution to help cover the cost of meals. These lunches will be listed on the Events Calendar and Events List.
Bus Transportation
FREE on the Mountain Line for all Missoula residents. If you need help riding the bus or with bus schedules you can call 406-721-3333 or use their web site at Mountain Line – How Missoula Rolls. At the Mountain Line web site you will find schedule route planners and much more information.
Village Member Recommended Service Providers
We maintain a list of Village member recommended service providers for a number of necessary and popular services. All providers have been recommended by Missoula Villages members and have been vetted as reliable and reputable by the Missoula Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. Many service provders either offer Village members a discount or provide sponsorship funds to help us provide Village programs. Click here to see a list of the current service providers.
Friendly Check-in Calls
This service is for Villages members who live alone and would like to get a daily phone call from another member to check-in and confirm that all is well. It is also a great way for members to connect and provide social contact. Your calling partner may also be able to help you with advice navigating the Missoula Village website and requesting services as needed. This service, like all services, depends on volunteers signing up to help.
Limited Member Services

Each member of Missoula Villages can request up to 5 services per month (10 for 2 person households) from the list below .

* Members who give their time and expertise to support other Village members can request an additional service for every two hours you volunteer. This is a great way to share your skills, meet new neighbors, socialize and get benefits in return. Every Missoula Villages member is also expected to help other members - that is part of the deal! Transportation Assistance
This includes rides to appointments and important meetings. If you can drive, we would love to have you on our list of designated drivers who can help with transportation when others need a lift. Sign up to help your neighbors here. When possible we encourage use of Missoula's FREE bus whenever possible. Missoula Villages volunteers are ready to teach older adults or individuals with disabilities who would like to learn to use Missoula’s free public transportation.To request transporation assistance, either getting a ride, or learning how to use the buses, you will need to submit a request. Be sure to know the date and time that you need to be picked up and where you need to go. Our drivers need at least 24 hours advance notice. This is a limited service. Remember, you may request only 5 limited services each month or up to 8 if you bank service hours.
Outside Home Maintenance
This includes basic yard work, mowing, snow shoveling, leaf raking, minor tree trimming and short-term jobs that volunteers can complete within 1-2 hours. As this will be done when possible, by a volunteer, requests need to be flexible in when the work can get done. To request Outside Home Maintenance help you will need to submit a request with specifics of what you need done. Please be aware that it may take a few days for a volunteer to be able to respond. This is a limited service. Remember, you may request only 5 limited services each month or up to 8 if you bank service hours.
Simple Inside Home Maintenance
This includes non-technical jobs that volunteers can complete within an hour such as changing light bulbs, changing batteries in smoke detectors and moving modest furniture around. Some volunteers may also be able to help reset fuses or evaluate electrical or plumbing problems such as leaky faucets or lights that don't turn on. If the volunteer is unable to resolve the problem, they may recommend that you call one of our recommended service providers. This work will be done by a volunteer so requests need to be flexible as to when the work can get done. To request Simple Inside Home Maintenance help you will need to submit a request with specifics of what help you need. Please be aware that it may take a few days for a volunteer to be able to respond. This is a limited service. Remember, you may request only 5 limited services each month or up to 8 if you bank service hours.
This service does not include cleaning, laundry, or regular household tasks.
Home Safety Inspection and Recommendations
Schedule an evaluation of your home to assess recommended adjustments to allow you to safely age in place. Missoula Villages and Missoula Aging Services is excited to offer home improvements, modifications, and repairs that can help older adults maintain their independence and prevent accidents. Work can include home safety assessments and simple modifications such as replacing doorknobs with pull handles, grab bars, etc. After a no-cost consultation, an estimate is provided for labor and materials. This program is available for individuals who are over the age of 60 or disabled & own or rent in Missoula County. Please submit a request for a visit by the Home Modification Coordinator.
Short-Term Meals
This is for episodic member needs. This service will be coordinated through our Meal Trains Program. If you know in advance that you will not be able to prepare meals for a period of time, or you have had an emergency that keeps you from being able to prepare meals you should submit a request. Please enter the approximate date range that you will need meal help.
Longer-Term Meals: Meals on Wheels
Missoula Villages woks with Missoula Aging Services to provide Meals-on-Wheels to Missoula residents. Meals on Wheels program offers in-home delivery of hot meals five days a week in most areas. Meals on Wheels provides homebound older adults who are unable to shop or cook for themselves a healthy meal, which empowers them to live safely and independently in their own homes. Meals are delivered by friendly volunteer drivers who also provide a smile and a daily safety check. Who is eligible for Meals on Wheels? Meals on Wheels is available to qualified residents of Missoula County, including the Seeley-Swan Valley. Meals on Wheels delivers meals to adults ages 60 and older. We provide these meals to people who are homebound, unable to leave their homes to retrieve groceries, or who are unable to prepare their own meals. Individuals receive a home visit to help determine eligibility. How to sign up: If you or a loved one is in need of Meals on Wheels, MAS can provide the service at no cost, though participants are asked to make a voluntary contribution to help cover the cost of the program. Caregiver Support
If you or your partner area a full time caregiver for a loved one you may occasionally need some time for errands, personal time or other needs. When possible, we will try to find a qualified volunteer who can help periodically for a couple of hours. Please submit a request and one of our coordinators will get back to you to work out some help. This is a limited service. Financial Advice
It can be hard to make ends meet when expenses like medical bills, housing and in-home care stack up. Missoula Aging Services offers resources to help you find ways to save money including navigating Medicare, money management, and applying for financial assistance programs. Trips to the Dump or Composting Site
This service is for trash that is larger than your trash service will not take. Please submit a request with specifics of what you need hauled away. Generally, items such as brush piles, small furniture and small appliances are acceptable. Our volunteers cannot take large appliances or heavy items. Additionally, volunteers may have only a few days a month when they can offer this service and they will let you know when help is possible. You may have a fee to help cover the fee charged at the landfill. By picking up multiple items from different members on select days we save greatly on the dump fees. This is a limited service.
